My top three favorite female boxers

Times have surely changed, and we are seeing more and more women making a name for themselves in the sports industry, Amanda Nunes, 35, Cris Cyborg, 38, and Holly Holm, 42, are three of these women. Martial Arts is a sports sector that is stereotypically thought of as a masculine discipline, but these ladies have changed that. These are my three personal favorites, and for a good reason as these women are some of the biggest names in women’s UFC.

Amanda Nunes, 35, standing at 5’8, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist, also known by her ring name “The Lioness;” she is one of my favorites because of her long punches and jabs. In many of her fights, she often catches her opponent off guard with unexpected, powerful, long, and fierce punches; this to me along with her impressive footwork is what makes her a dangerous person to get in the ring with! These skills made Nunes the first woman to become a “two-division UFC champion,” and they have earned her a number one spot in the UFC’s bantamweight rankings, as per IMD.

Cris Cyborg, 38, standing at 5’8, is a Brazilian mixed martial artist. Her real name is Cristiane Justino Venancio, but she is better known by her ring name “Cyborg.” Like Amanda Nunes, she has impressively long and aggressive punches and jabs, but one of the things I love about this fighter is that she has brains behind her fierceness, she is very smart as well as calculated in the ring.

She is good at avoiding jabs and kicks, and she makes just the right moves at just the right times. She is also very strong as she can knock any woman down to her feet easily. Cudos to whoever trained this beautiful beast! Cyborg is a Bellator Woman’s Featherweight Champion weighing just 144.6 pounds, according to Sportskeeda.

Holly Holme, 42, standing at 5’8, is an American mixed martial artist, also known by her ring name “The Preacher’s Daughter,” I admire this all-American beauty because she looks like me (I am a petite woman as well), and because she has impeccable footwork (she has a kickboxing background), she always catches her opponent off guard with her aggressively long kicks. Her long arms make for long punches, and her excellent footwork makes her very swift and smart in the ring as (like Cyborg) she’s good at avoiding blows and making the correct moves at the correct times.

In 2012, Holm was named Female Fighter of the Year. She has won the WBF Female World Light Welterweight and World Welterweight titles, and she is an 18-time world champion across three weight classes, according to IMD.
