A globally popular actress is set to appear as a new guest host on Today with Jenna & Friends. According to Variety, Scarlett Johanson was revealed as a guest host for the popular morning show on the network. Show co-host Jenna Bush Hager announced the news in a new episode Tuesday morning.
“It’s Scarlett Johansson!” Hager said. “I’m so excited. Scarlett is going to be here the whole second week, and she’s been amazing. We have so many fun things planned.”
Hager shared more thoughts on Johansson joining the show in an interview with People Magazine:
“Scarlett Johansson is the queen!” said Hager. “First of all, I’ve been obsessed with her movies since forever. The Girl with a Pearl Earring—I mean, that shows you I’m a nerd who loves to read. She’s also a big reader, which will be so much fun. We have so much in common.”
Johansson will not be the only guest actress hosting the morning show. Popular celebrities and actresses Taraji P. Henson, Keke Palmer, and Eva Longoria will also be guest hosting starting next week. This long line of new guest hosts is meant to temporarily fill the role of long-time host Hoda Kotb when she departs.
Kotb announced her departure in the fall of 2024, revealing to People that she planned on leaving the show to spend more time with her family and her two daughters. The search for a new co-host has been a long one, especially for Hager, who played a large role in the effort. Unfortunately, the search for the show’s new co-host is still ongoing.
Until then, viewers can catch the new guest host appearances starting January 13 through January 20. While unconfirmed, more guest hosts are expected in the future as the co-host search continues.
