Netflix Releases First Trailer For YOU’s Final Season

Netflix has released the first trailer for the final season of its hit drama series YOU. According to Variety, the show will conclude with its fifth season, which Netflix officially renewed in March 2023.

The trailer features the series’ infamous protagonist, Joe Goldberg, reflecting on the events that shaped his twisted journey. It even shows a return to Mooney’s Bookstore, a central location from season 1.

“Hello, you. Do you remember me? Because I remember you.” monologued Goldberg in the trailer. “Here we are together again, back to where it began. A lot has happened these many years together, identities, cities, loves, complications.”

“But all that led me here, to now, to where I was always meant to be,” he declares as books appear on the screen. “And the one constant, the one thing that has always been there for me, is you.” he continued.

Season 4 of YOU was released in two parts and followed Goldberg’s life abroad, where he adopted the fake identity of Professor Jonathan Moore. While navigating his new academic career and forming new friendships, Goldberg struggled to suppress his murderous impulses and dark thoughts.

The official synopsis for season 5 reveals that Joe Goldberg will return to New York City, only to find his new life threatened by “the ghosts of his past” and his “dark desires.”

“You, who have been there the whole time, and will be there with me to the end. Goodbye, you.” Goldberg concluded.

YOU made its initial debut on the Lifetime network in 2018. The series stayed on that network for one season before being canceled until it was later picked up by Netflix. Since then, YOU grew to become one of Netflix’s biggest cash cows, with a viewership of over 440.6 million hours by June 2023 alone.

Fans can watch the fifth and final season of You on April 24, 2025.
