For almost a year now, individuals across the nation have joined together to protest the current presidential administration and its actions. We have seen rallies in the street of people fighting to make change within our country and alter the trajectory of America’s future. Named the “No Kings Movement,” these protests exist in several cities and towns in the United States and are nonviolent and organized by communities. And when we say “No Kings,” we mean individuals are growing increasingly sick and tired of turning on the news and seeing dictator-esque behaviors by our President, Donald J. Trump.
In June of 2025, America saw a new movement, a new wave of change and hope flooding our streets. The Indivisible Movement and 50501 Movement organized the protests as a response to the administration’s policies geared solely at higher classes, the militarization of our democracy, and Trump’s actions that have been deemed ‘anti-American’ or unconstitutional. Each protest is set up to be a nonviolent and course of lawful action, ensuring safety for participants and those around the event. Since the beginning of this movement, there have been three protests taking place across all fifty states, dating in June 2025, October 2025, and March 2026.
June 14 2025. The 250th U.S. Army Anniversary Parade, Trump’s 79th birthday, and the first protest of the ‘No Kings’ movement. All fifty states had participants, and an estimated 2,100 locations joined in to fight against the ludicry occurring in our government. In order to prevent coinciding with the parade and birthday festivities, there was no protest held in Washington D.C–another way to show that violence does not need to be the answer for every single issue. We saw one of the largest protests in our nation’s history on that June afternoon. Both movements who organize these protests ensure to ‘follow’ the 3.5% rule, a theory that states as if 3.5% of the population participates in nonviolent demonstration, impactful political change can occur. These demonstrations not only stretched nationwide, but major cities had extremely high numbers of participants–Philadelphia with over 100,000 and Los Angeles and New York both reaching over 200,000. For the first time since the start of his second term, America witnessed individuals joining together and making their statement against the President. This is a democracy, not a monarchy–and there is no room in America for someone who wishes to act as if he is king.
The second nationwide protest within the “No Kings Movement” occurred on October 18, 2025. We thought the first protest had a major number of locations involved and participants, but the October movement broke the previously set records. Across the country, again in every single state, 2,700 locations took part in demonstrations with approximately 7 million individuals participating overall. Another movement was held due to the federal government shutdown that was on its 18th day at the time, the intensification of ICE and the National Guard across the country, and continuing with the theme of rejecting dictatorship-like government power. In New York City, about 350,000 individuals took to the streets to participate in the peaceful pushback of our government. During this protests, organizers asked participants to dress in yellow to show unity and resistance, and people even brought inflatable costumes to add to the aspect of peace.
Just a few days ago, on March 28, 2026, No Kings saw its largest movement throughout its history. We saw approximately 8-9 million people from 3,300 locations marching in the streets, directly focused on the recent events in Minnesota, the two shootings by ICE and intense ICE takeover in the city, the current conflict in Iran, rising costs across the nation, and continuous ICE misbehavior. In the major cities, we saw the highest numbers to date for the movement, but a crazy thing happened–about two thirds of the demonstrations occurred in non-major cities and towns, with significant protests happening in states that have always leaned red and for Trump, such as Idaho, Utah, and Florida. This movement is not only for individuals who have always been against Trump and the administration, but for people realizing the craziness and evils behind all of it.
While individuals are in the streets marching for peace and better American living, the Trump administration has been sitting at the White House making fun of and dismissing the movement. All while continuing to make no changes to their agendas. A White House spokesperson labelled the movement as “Trump Derangement Therapy Sessions” and the Speaker of the House called them “Hate America Rallies.” Individuals now “hate America” when they are trying to ensure peace, justice, and fairness for all, not only the billionaires and MAGA cult, apparently. Trump himself has found a new hobby since the movements, creating AI-generated videos of himself as a king. How sweet, he’s messing around with Chat GPT and bringing us into war!
In America, we have no Kings.
