Oasis is an English rock band that initially consisted of Liam Gallagher, Paul Arthurs, Paul McGuigan, and Tony McCarroll. The band initially formed in 1990 under the name The Rain, before changing it to Oasis a short time later. The band toured through clubs and other smaller venues. The band was spotted by Creation Records co-owner Alan McGee and signed on in 1993. Their debut studio album, Definitely Maybe released in 1994 to wide acclaim, becoming the fastest-selling debut album in British history at the time. Their second album had a similar amount of success the following year and remains one of the UK’s best-selling 90s albums
As the years progress, Oasis became influential to the british music scene due to being one of the pioneers of Britpop. As the 90s came and went Oasis was one of the most dominant bands in the decade cementing themselves as a part tof British 90s pop culture.
With seven albums sold, over 75 million albums sold worldwide and numerous award won, Oasis remains one of the most significant bands to ever come out of Britain.
