Op-Ed: The Best YouTube Channels for Book Lovers

Online book communities have grown a lot lately, and for good reason. They are dedicated to bringing all the book-related content that book lovers crave. One community that has grown especially is book channels on YouTube, where you can find all sorts of content, from reading vlogs, to book hauls, reviews, reading lists by topic or season, and news of your favorite authors.

The BookTube community has grown and diversified, with genres and topics for any taste. So, maybe you are an avid reader who is constantly looking for more new material, or maybe you really enjoy reading, but you don’t have the time or energy to invest in a story without knowing it’s going to be worth your while. This is where BookTubers come along. On YouTube, you can find countless content creators with channels dedicated specifically to book lists and reviews, so that you get new titles to add or scratch from your reading list.

The Poptimist

The Poptimist is one of the funniest and most entertaining book channels to watch. His book reviews are very in-depth, going into the category of investigation more times than not. Also, his TBR lists are some of the best around.

Rincey Reads

Rincey Reads is one of the BookTubers that offers more variety. For those who are looking to explore a lot of different genres from a broad variety of authors, Rincey is the best.

Her videos are very simple, sort and to the point. They are also the most inclusive, as every one of the videos offers Closed Captions.

Chapter Stackss

Chapter Stackss is great if you are looking for scary books. She creates book reviews and reading lists on many categories, but mostly horror and mystery. So, for those in search of new thrillers to add to their list, or if you just wish for an explanation or a review, this channel is definitely worth a visit.

Book Riot

This is somewhat of a small channel and a recent discovery. If what you are interested in reading is fiction, Book Riot has you covered. They have videos dedicated to new monthly releases, whole book reviews, and many watch lists organized by topics, such as Romance, Sci-fi, Thriller, or Non-fiction.

Fight Mediocrity

With almost 2 million subscribers, Fight Mediocrity is the channel to visit to get advice in the form of short and quite captivating videos. Although it is not so much a book review channel as it is a personal growth channel, going in, you’ll find dozens of videos dedicated to listings of books that are a good read if you want to improve a particular aspect of your life.

There are also handy summaries of personal and financial growth books, in case you want to get the ideas, but don’t have the time to read the book right now.
