Palestinian Director released by Israeli Forces

Oscar-winning Palestinian director Hamdan Ballal and two other hostages have been released by Israel. This is only a couple of days after he was ruthlessly beaten and detained by Israeli Forces in the West Bank.  It was reported that three men in military garments beat them while one recorded the assault.

It was Tuesday last week when journalists saw Ballal and two other Palestinians in the Kiryat Arba police station leaving. They all had bruises on their face and blood on their clothes.

The “No Other Land” directors and fellow creators are currently safe. However, the fact that Israeli forces accused the men of throwing stones at a young settler is blasphemy. Considering Ballal and his colleagues denied those claims, there is no reason to believe it’s true.

Since Hamdan Ballal’s Oscar win, there has been a massive rise in attacks from Jewish settlers and Israeli forces. Threats have been made from settlers at nearby outposts. All of this culminated in the hundred deaths of Palestinians. Carried out by the wide-scale military operations of the Israeli military.

Hamdan and his efforts have clearly caused nerves among the Israeli forces. Something that they have yet to rectify but instead double down on the deaths of innocent Palestinians.
