Latin Artist of the Month for July 2022
Born in Mexico on June 17th, 1971, Paulina Rubio began her music career in 1981 as a member of a successful Mexican pop group called Timbiriche. For ten years, she was part of Timbiriche, where she recorded 10 music albums until she decided to leave to start her solo career in 1991.
In 1991 she moved to L.A. where she studied music and recorded her first solo album, Chica Dorada in 1992. Two years later she was invited to headline Viña del Mar Festival, a very famous music festival in Chile, which launched her to stardom to a massive Latin audience. In 2002, she launched her first album in English, Border Girl and two years later she launched Pau-Latina a collection of songs from different styles including rock, dance, hip-hop, and Mexican folk.
Paulina was invited to headline at the Miami Beach Pride festival in 2021 where she was crowned as “Gay Queen”. Later that year, she released a new single Yo Soy, and announced a joint tour with Alejandra Guzmán, The Perrísimas Tour, which had 22 dates in the United States starting on April 15, 2022, in Orlando, Florida, and ending on May 22 in Los Angeles, California.
