Latin Artist of the Month for July 2025

Bio

Edgar Ricardo Arjona Morales, aka Ricardo Arjona, is an influential Guatemalan singer and songwriter. Born in Jocotenango, Guatemala, Arjona began his musical career at age 21 with the Guatemalan record label, Discos de Centroamérica. He released his debut album, Déjame Decir Que Te Amo, in 1985, which unfortunately became a commercial failure.

The failure demoralized Arjona, quitting to become a teacher for three years until he would try again with a second album, Jesús, Verbo No Sustantivo. Thankfully, the album succeeded and became a best seller in many Central American countries.

Since then, Ajorna has become one of the most successful Latin American artists of all time, with 18 studio albums and 20 million records sold. Arjona has reached number one on multiple Billboard charts and has won many awards. Some of those awards include the Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, the Latin Heritage Award, the American Society of Composers awards, and the Billboard Latin Music Awards
