Currently, indie video games are incredibly prolific with their popularity being able to rival that of mainstream games with some examples being “Balatro,” “Undertale,” “LIMBO” and so on. Many of these types of games are very prolific, however there’s one type of indie game that’s incredibly interesting and that’s “Roblox,” games.
“Roblox,” developed by Roblox Corporation isn’t necessarily a game in and of itself, but rather a platform where other people can develop their own video games for others to play. It provides a wide variety of games for a large variety of players that many can enjoy and often could stand as their own stand-alone games that rivals even mainstream games.
Horror games seem to have a rather large following on “Roblox,” with many proving scarier than one would expect. Several examples include “Doors,” “My Eyes Deceive,” “Dumpster Night” and “Apeirophobia.” These games are surprisingly scary as they provide an exceptional atmosphere and unsettling premises that create satisfying horror experiences.
There are other game genres that “Roblox,” often covers such as various natural disaster survival games, tower defense games, a wide variety of simulator games as well as tycoon games. With such a wide variety of video games under its umbrella it’s not hard to find a game that you like.
Due to the nature of what “Roblox,” is, it’s also a great place for beginner game developers to start getting experience as it allows for easy customization, beginner friendly tools and so on. However eventually some developers may eventually find it restrictive as with more experience, “Roblox,” can grow to become a bit inflexible as a development platform.
