“Roofman”, Channing Tatum’s New Film Received Positive Reviews from Critics

For those unaware, tomorrow, October 10th, Derek Cianfrance is set to release his new movie “Roofman” in movie theaters across the nation. The movie is set to be a dark comedy with famous actor Channing Tatum, playing Roofman, a criminal who is hiding from the police inside a toy store.

The story of “Roofman” is actually based on the true story of Jefferey Manchester, a former US Army officer who robbed more than 40 businesses by cutting through their roofs. The movie was made with the assistance of Jeffrey Manchester, with Channing Tatum acting as Jeffrey during his year-and-a-half-long crime spree and hiding from the police inside a Toys-R-Us after Jeffrey had escaped prison.

The movie is likely to be received well in theaters, with critics with early access giving a 83% score to Rotten Tomatoes, a “fresh” score based on the standards of the website. Critics have claimed that Channing Tatum’s portrayal of Jeffrey Manchester is one of Tatum’s most compelling performances of his career.

The director, Derek Cianfrance, has come out and said that he is not known for his ability to write a comedy and that his wife, Shannon Plump, is the comedian between the two. This movie is Derek’s attempt to merge comedy and tragedy into a seamless whole. Derek has said that comedy and tragedy are sides of the same coin and that this film is his attempt to flip the coin into the air and let the audience see both sides in one film.

“Roofman” is expected to be a hit at the box office and become a crowd favorite movie of the year. If you are interested in seeing the story of Jeffrey Manchester, buy your tickets now and get ready to laugh and cry in the theaters tomorrow.
