Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago aka Anuel AA is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. Born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, Anuel AA was introduced to many stars within the industry due to his father being vice president of the Puerto Rican division of Sony Music Entertainment’s A&R department until he lost his job when Anuel AA was fifteen.

Anuel AA began posting music online from fourteen to eighteen, garnering a massive online fanbase until he was regcognized by RIck Ross, who signed him to Maybach Music Group. Dhrtly after Santiago released his successful mixtape Real Hasta la Muerte which led to the opportunity of appearing as a guest feature on music artist Ozuna’s album Odisea.

Anuel AA’s music style is notable harsh and risque, with much of its content discussing his life on the streets. Some of his inspiration has come from rap artists popular within the U.S and Latin Music scenes, with th emost notable being the late-prapper Tupac Shakur. 

His debut album, Real Hasta la Muerte, was released in 2018 following a 30-month prison sentence and got him an appearance on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. Anuel AA’s success would only go up with his single China, which launched him to the global market. Gaining the moniker “The God of Latin trap,” Anuel AA has collaborated with many top artists in the Latin scene, including Daddy Yankee, Karol G, Ozuna, J Balvin, Shakira, and more.

With over a million albums sold and five studio albums released, Anuel AA remains one of the most notable Latin artists in the market.
