On September 10, 2025, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University. Kirk was the CEO of Turning Point USA, and was best known for his debates and talks at college campuses across the country. He had affiliations with both the President and Vice President, who have both been speaking out since he was shot. Since his death, we have seen many different events, including his memorial service at a stadium in Arizona, that have conveyed a different message and emotional appeal than we would think. Rather than remembering his life and his exact legacy, it seems that his widow, Erika Kirk, is taking his passing in a different direction.
Despite the obvious initial reaction Erika had after her husband passed, many people have had concerns about her behaviors and actions since the shooting. Charlie Kirk’s funeral took place on a national stage on September 21, 2025– and anyone could attend this event. The services were broadcasted on television and can be rewatched online. Yes, it keeps his memory in place, but many are confused as to why these very personal moments are available all over the internet.
For many people following along with the aftermath of Kirk’s passing, many red flags are raised. There is a lack of emotion within the leaders of the movements, including his widow and people who were closest to him. Within the remembrance of Charlie, there are many political movements, and especially attacks on the left. A lot of blame has been placed onto the left, and it seems as though his death is being used to push a different agenda. Even other conservative activists like Charlie Kirk, such as Candance Owens, are realizing the flaws within Erika Kirk and Turning Point USA’s actions. Conspiracy theories have sparked up surrounding Erika Kirk, and were only briefly shut down in one interview that was held.
To make matters worse, Erika Kirk has announced her ‘grieving tour’ with Turning Point USA, where she is visiting different states and further pushing her agenda. She has even had ‘special guests,’ including Nicki Minaj at one of her more recent rallies. It is unusual for a widow to hold a tour surrounding her grieving her late husband, as this is not something we have seen in recent media. Though grieving is different for everyone, the concerns surrounding Erika Kirk are being noticed more and more.
