Sindiso Khumalo is a womenswear sustainable textile designer based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her uniquely African designs and dedication to empowerment in fashion have earned her eponymous clothing label widespread acclaim.

After graduating from University of Cape Town, her city of birth, Khumalo moved to London to pursue a Masters in Design for Textile Futures. From there, Sindiso Khumalo was born. She founded her line with a focus on African storytelling, told through hand-crafted designs, watercolors, and mesmerizing collages that celebrate the designer’s rich cultural heritage.

In 2012, Khumalo was shortlisted for Elle Magazine’s Rising Star competition, and in 2015 won Vogue Italia’s “Who’s On Next Dubai” competition.  Her work has been presented at Milan Fashion Week, the Royal Festival Hall in London, The Smithsonian Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C., and more. Her designs have also been published in Vogue UK, Marie Claire Magazine, and “Africa: Architecture, Culture, and Identity”. As far as collaborations go, Khumalo has lent her talents to IKEA, Woolworths South Africa, Vodacom, and The Sanlam Handmade Fair on bespoke designs.
