Is Beyonce’s launch into Country Music creating a new era for the genre? (OP-ED)

Country music has had a peculiar history within the United States. Despite being one of the most popular music sub-genres in the U.S., a palpable divide has kept a significant portion of the populace from taking part. Now, with Beyonce officially entering the country sphere with her latest album, Country Carter, could this be the […]

Beyoncé Makes History Becoming the Most Awarded Artist in Grammy History

Beyoncé won Best R&B Song for “CUFF IT,” but she wasn’t there to receive her award as she was “stuck in LA traffic” Trever Noah stated. Instead, the diva’s longtime collaborator, The-Dream, leapt onstage to claim her Best R&B Song award for “Cuff It.” And while his brief, rude remarks were hardly befitting to the Grammy queen, thankfully, Noah and a surprise recipient swooped in to keep things classy.

The Aesthetics of Poverty: Balenciaga’s Trash Bag Purse and Beyoncé’s Renaissance

The Aesthetics of Poverty: Balenciaga’s Trash Bag Purse and Beyoncé’s Renaissance

Balenciaga just dropped their 2022 winter collection, and among the many incredible pieces, one left me very confused. Here is a hint, it was the $1,790 “Men’s Trash Bag Pouch.” Why someone would want to spend over a thousand dollars on a plastic bag is beyond me, but even more confusing: is why Demna Gvasalia would create a bag that looks like literal garbage.

Listening to Big Thief’s fifth studio album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe feels like sipping a warm cup of tea on a Sunday morning. The lead singer’s Adrianna Lenker’s warm vocals perfectly pair with her beautifully written songs. The Savage X Fenty Show has only just concluded, but Rihanna is already planning the next one. On Monday (November 14), the superstar revealed her dream A-lister for her show.
“Beyoncé,” she stated matter-of-factly in an interview with E! News when asked the question. “I mean, Beyoncé got body. That would just trump everything for me.”
Meanwhile, this year’s models ranged from Sheryl Lee Ralph, Taraji P. Henson, and RuPaul’s Drag Race fan favorite Kornbread “The Snack” Jete to Simu Liu, Winston Duke, and, rather controversially, Johnny Depp.

Why are all the Women in the Music Industry Beautiful?

“You know Ed Sheeran is a good singer because even though he’s ugly he’s still famous.” This direct quote is one of the few specific things I remember being said in middle school. While I am not sure why Ed Sheeran’s talent or appearance was the topic of conversation that day, seven years later the quote has clearly stuck with me. Beyond it being a poignant representation of both a middle schooler’s humor and logic, it remains to be uncharacteristically truthful.
