The App Store Needs More Games and Apps Tailored to the Apple Pencil

While the iPad and Apple Pencil don’t need much hype to make sales, people buying these electronics may be focusing on the potential the duo have instead of what they offer. Of course, art and writing apps are great on the iPad, as they’re the perfect mixture of the satisfactory act of writing, with the ease of cloud storage.

Now, art and notes can live on the iPad or in the cloud and are easy to find thanks to the naming and filing systems Apple uses. However, if you aren’t an artist or someone who likes to write their notes, the iPad and Apple Pencil combo is a little overrated and limited.

As of right now, there are only a handful of games, free or otherwise, that are designed to be used with the Apple Pencil, or any stylus for that matter. Most games that use a stylus are drawing games and honestly can be used with a finger as the original iPad intended, or with a 5-dollar stylus. With the addition of an Apple Pencil which will run you an additional 80 dollars at least depending on what version you buy, the App Store should offer some apps that take the features of the Apple Pencil into account.

For example, the second generation Apple Pencil has touch sensitivity on the side where you can tap once or twice and complete an action. A game that uses that touch sensitivity would be a great addition to showcase the benefits of an Apple Pencil over a cheap stylus. Especially since a common question people ask once they buy an iPad is what can I do with it, Apple has a chance to create something that makes the duo worth it to purchase together.
