The Best Dressed New York Athletes, Ranked by Someone Who Knows Nothing About Fashion

So here’s what happened: I was bored, started Googling random stuff, and somehow ended up looking at photos of New York athletes off the field. Next thing I know, I’m deep into side-by-side pics of people wearing outfits that cost more than my car. I don’t know much about fashion (my wardrobe is 90% hoodies), but I know what looks cool. Kind of. So here’s my extremely unofficial ranking of the best dressed New York athletes — based purely on vibes and Google Images.

First: Saquon Barkley, former Giants player. Yes, I know he plays for Philly now, but I’m still counting him. I typed his name in and immediately thought, “Oh, he’s got style.” Even just looking through photos on Google, it’s obvious the guy knows how to dress. He’s got the kind of style that looks smooth but still comfortable — like someone who could go from a press conference to dinner without changing a thing.

Second: Sabrina Ionescu, a player for Liberty, who might be the queen of cool without trying. Her style is simple — hoodies, jackets, sneakers — but every outfit just works. (I love an icon who can pull off hoodies and make them look fashionable.) If I wore those outfits, I’d look like I got lost in a Foot Locker. When she wears them, it’s a vibe.

Third: Aaron Judge, a Yankees player. He has a very classic style, mostly suits and simple designs, but they look great. Nothing too wild, he knows what works for him. That kind of consistency goes a long way. Plus, I’m sure it’s not easy to find a suit that fits perfectly when you’re built like a linebacker.

Fourth: Sauce Gardner, a player for the Jets. If confidence were an accessory, Sauce would already be on the cover of Vogue. I don’t even know what some of these outfits are made of, but I’m not mad about it. Sauce wears the kind of stuff that makes you do a double-take — in a good way. He clearly has fun with it, and honestly, I’m here for the chaos.

Fifth: Jalen Brunson, a player for the Knicks. Jalen’s fashion game is lowkey fire. He gives off “cool guy at the party who’s not even trying” energy. He looks like he actually enjoys getting dressed, but doesn’t stress about it either.

Anyway, that’s my list. I have no authority here, but I’ve seen the pictures and I stand by every single one of these rankings.
