The Long Awaited One Punch Man Season Three and Bad Animation

“One Punch Man,” is one of the most popular Japanese animated series to have ever been made, with the first season being extremely memorable and comedic with brilliant animation. The source material is also known for having brilliantly drawn artwork to match its great story. When the second season was released, there was a noticeable drop in quality in the show’s animation, yet it still held strong, fast forward six years to season three and the animation has nosedived yet again.

For an entire six-year-long wait, people have anticipated the third season, only for it to be wildly disappointing. There are many shots of stilted animation, movements that look jarring and entire scenes where movement is animated by moving a static image across the screen. The best example of this is a scene where a villain named Garou slides down a hill as a static image. Many fans have compared the sloppy and lazy animation to the second season of “Blue Lock,” which was also notorious for bad animation. Others jokingly call the show “One Frame Man.”

However, there have been accounts of fans taking it too far, as some even went on to harass the season’s director online to the point where he deleted his X account. Before doing so, he posted saying that “There are a few people among my followers who are pretending to be allies but are actually engaging in rage-baiting, so I’ve decided to delete my account” and that “Honestly, this is taking a toll on my mental health and it only brings negatives to the work, the staff and the original creators. But such despicable behavior is unforgivable.” Complaining about quality downgrades in shows is understandable, but harassing the people who work on them is too far and a major problem that plagues the modern internet space.
