The big categories for the 2025 Grammy Awards consist of Album, Record, Song, Producer and non-classical songwriter of the Year. There are lots of significant people running for these awards this year, so choosing a winner will be a difficult choice.
Nominees include big names such as Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, and more. As voting closed on Jan 3rd, it is time to predict who the winners will be.
Record Of The Year Nominees:
“Now and Then” – The Beatles
“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” – Beyoncé
“Espresso” – Sabrina Carpenter
“360” – Charli xcx
“BIRDS OF A FEATHER” – Billie Eilish
“Not Like Us” – Kendrick Lamar
“Good Luck, Babe!” – Chappell Roan
“Fortnight” – Taylor Swift Featuring Post Malone
Record of the Year Predicted Winner: “Espresso” – Sabrina Carpenter
Should Win: “Not Like Us” – Kendrick Lamar
All of the nominees for Record of the Year have made a significant impact in the music industry and amongst fans. “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar is a strong contender and deserves to win the record of the year for its powerful lyrics and Kendrick’s ability to keep the conversation of black culture in the spotlight. The record has hit over a billion streams on Spotify, but it’s not always the most popular song that wins.
The records we can rule out are “Now and Then” by the Beatles and Good Luck, Babe! By Chappell Roan. While these were two great records, they didn’t resonate with larger audiences as much as the other nominees.
My predicted winner for this category is “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. This record has reached multiple generations, cultures, and countries, and has returned Miss Carpenter into the spotlight. This was a fan-favorite and since Sabrina Carpenter has had no Grammy wins, it is likely she will secure record of the year this year with her recent success.
Album of the Year Nominees:
New Blue Sun – André 3000
COWBOY CARTER – Beyoncé
Short n’ Sweet – Sabrina Carpenter
BRAT – Charli xcx
Djesse Vol. 4 – Jacob Collier
HIT ME HARD AND SOFT – Billie Eilish
Chappell Roan The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess – Chappell Roan
THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT – Taylor Swift
Album of the Year Predicted Winner: COWBOY CARTER – Beyoncé
Should Win: HIT ME HARD AND SOFT – Billie Eilish
Beyonce has been nominated for 99 Grammys in the past and has won 32, so it is likely she will win at least one award this Year. Considering this is her first record-breaking country album, she will likely take this award home.
Another likely winner of this award is HIT ME HARD AND SOFT by Billie Eilish, and it probably should win this award. Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas often produce and write Billie’s songs together, and Billie has had 32 nominations and nine wins. If Billie wins Album of the Year this Year, it’ll be her second win.
Song of the Year Nominees:
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” — Sean Cook, Jerrel Jones, Joe Kent, Chibueze Collins Obinna, Nevin Sastry & Mark Williams, songwriters (Shaboozey)
“BIRDS OF A FEATHER” — Billie Eilish O’Connell & Finneas O’Connell, songwriters (Billie Eilish)

“Fortnight” — Jack Antonoff, Austin Post & Taylor Swift, songwriters (Taylor Swift Featuring Post Malone)
“Good Luck, Babe!” — Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, Daniel Nigro & Justin Tranter, songwriters (Chappell Roan)
“Not Like Us” — Kendrick Lamar, songwriter (Kendrick Lamar)
“Please Please Please” — Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff & Sabrina Carpenter, songwriters (Sabrina Carpenter)
“TEXAS HOLD ‘EM” — Brian Bates, Atia Boggs, Beyoncé, Elizabeth Lowell Boland, Megan Bülow, Nate Ferraro & Raphael Saadiq, songwriters (Beyoncé)
Song of the Year Predicted Winner: “Please Please Please” — Amy Allen, Jack Antonoff & Sabrina Carpenter, songwriters (Sabrina Carpenter)
Should Win: “Not Like Us” — Kendrick Lamar, songwriter (Kendrick Lamar)
Sabrina Carpenter has taken over pop music this recent year, so we predict she will win one, if not more, awards. Yet, the record that should win is Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us.” Lamar’s song has unparalleled storytelling ability, tackling themes of social justice, systemic inequality, and self-identity, and rightfully deserves this win.

“RIIVERDANCE” (Beyoncé)
“You’re Hired” (NEIKED Featuring Ayra Starr)
Songwriter of the Year, Nonclassical Predicted Winner: Amy Allen
Should Win: RAYE
Since I have predicted Sabrina Carpenter to be one of the top winners for the 2025 Grammys, it only makes sense that Amy Allen, a co-writer for two of the nominated Sabrina Carpenter songs, wins.
A notable nominee, however, is RAYE. RAYE is a British singer and songwriter who has written songs for Beyonce and Rita Ora. This is the first year she has been nominated for an award(s). Her nuanced songwriting style is ground-breaking and is the rightful winner for this category.

Producer Of The Year, Non-Classical Predicted Winner: Daniel Nigro
Should Win: Daniel Nigro
Daniel Nigro has only won one Grammy for Olivia Rodrigo’s best pop vocal album, “Sour”, and we expect him to win this year for producer of the year, non-classical. Daniel Nigro has been the producer behind major songs these past years. He produced songs for big new artists such as Chappel Roan and Olivia Rodrigo, who are both nominated for Grammys this year, so it is expected that he will and deserves to win.
