U.S Plans to Help with Gaza Starvation Crisis

As it currently stands, the people of Gaza are facing hunger due to the conflict with Israel. Many civilians have died trying to obtain the aid they need, and even more are dying from starvation. Many pictures of starving children have surfaced on the internet, which highlights how this issue extends further than just the war. This unfortunate set of circumstances has garnered the attention of the United States, which now plans to provide the necessary assistance to address this issue.

According to the BBC, Donald Trump has stated that the nation’s current plan is to set up food centers in Gaza. These centers will supposedly provide a safe area for people to walk in and receive food, without any barriers or restrictions to keep them out. Other attempts to provide food through air drops and trucks have not been successful enough due to various complications; therefore, multiple locations might provide enough stability to help Gaza get back on its feet.

Other countries, like France and Britain, have come out in defense of Gaza and plan to pitch in as well. Current talks with Hamas are discussing the restrictions of aid and how they must be removed, which might include a ceasefire so that civilians are not harmed while getting the things they need. Although Israel has denied the allegations of stealing food supplies from trucks and airdrops, it understands the situation and might be willing to have a temporary ceasefire. Hopefully, these food centers will be established soon so that innocent lives are not lost to hunger.
