Upcoming Films in 2025: What to Look Forward To

2025 is looking up to be a strong year for films, with many movies worthy of recognition coming to theaters over the summer and the remaining duration of 2025. The first of note is “Jurassic World Rebirth.” The newest addition to the “Jurassic Park,” franchise seems to be taking a step back to the usual plotline of an island full of Dinosaurs with a twist of mutated, failed Dinosaurs. Directed by the 2014 “Godzilla,” film’s Gareth Edwards, it looks to be an interesting addition.

Another worthy note is “Zootopia 2,” with the recent trailer revealing a new reptilian, snake character. The trailer itself is quite well done, as its visuals and music work exceedingly well to complement each other and it avoids the classic problem trailers have by revealing too much.

The video game series “Five Nights at Freddies,” will be getting a sequel to its film adaptation by Blumhouse with “Five Nights at Freddies 2,” which is adapting the second installment in the game franchise. The movie showcases a new line of animatronics to create an entertaining horror experience.

James Gunn’s “Superman,” seems to be a promising release as well. Judging from its teasers and trailers, Gunn seems to be pulling the titular superhero back to his roots as a symbol of hope with a more upbeat, hopeful tone as opposed to his prior interpretations in DC movies by Zack Snyder for example.

The widely popular Manga series “Chainsaw Man,” by Tatsuki Fujimoto will be receiving a film continuation of its anime adaptation with “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.” Animated by Mappa studios, the animation looks stellar with fluid action and a vibrant color palette, it looks to be a promising adaptation of Fujimoto’s work.
