Valentino Clemente Ludovico Garavani is a world renown Italian fashion designer. Born in the Italian province of Voghera, Valentino grew an interest in fashion while aprenticing under his fashion designer aunt Ernestina Salvadeo during primary school. Valentino continued to pursue fashion with the help of his parents in Paris studying at the École des Beaux-Arts and at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. 

Valentino went on to apprentice under a variety of fashion designers and brands including Jacques Fath, Balenciaga, Jean Dessès, Guy Laroche, and Emilio Schuberth before starting his own brand. Debuting in the 1960s, Valentino became popular with its ready-to-wear womenswear. 

That said, some of Valentino’s best known products were his detailed chic gowns. Most of his works grew popular enough that they were a common sight on red carpets.

By his retirement, Valentino;s brand has become one of the most recognizable across the globe.
