Ve Neill is an influential American makeup artist. Born on in Riverside, California, Neill’s interest in makeup started at a young age, from an interest in making monsters and decorating halloween costumes. Her first major step into the industry came at the age of 18, when she met Fred Phillips at a science-fiction convention, who brought her in to work on the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

Neill was able to learn off her coworkers on set various tips and tricks for the business. Eventually, her skills have lead her to be apart and even lead the make-up departments of the most notable films in the industry. Neill’s work can be found in many Tim Burton films including Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Beetlejuice, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Hunger Games Trilogy and more. Outside of makeup, Neill has appeared as a frequent judge on SYFI’s Face Off.

Over the course of her career Neill is considered to have won and nominated more Academy Awards for make-up in her gender. Currently, Neill has won three Academy Awards and one Emmy.
