Ways to Make Ramen Noodles Even Better

Not everyone has the skill or time to cook themselves a proper meal every day. Like many others, I often rely on frozen dinners and microwaves to get me the food I need for the day, but that can get stale after a while. Here are a few ways I have found that can improve instant ramen.

The main thing that determines the flavor of ramen is the broth, which is why adding spices and sauces can greatly change the noodles’ taste. Soy sauce is a common ingredient added to the broth to make it saltier and more potent. A dash of Sriracha can add a spicy twist to the otherwise mild flavor. Anything that can mix in with the broth is guaranteed to alter the flavor profile more than the ramen packets can muster.

Another way to make ramen better is by adding proteins and vegetables into the bowl to give your mouth more to chew on. A boiled egg is a classic addition that will provide the meal with richness. Any kind of cooked chicken or other meats can be a boon if you have any leftovers.

Mushrooms, onions, and any kind of greens can help boost the texture of the ramen and make for a healthy improvement. Adding things like this will give the meal a more nutritional balance and will likely fill you up more.

Even with one or two additions to the bowl, you will no doubt taste the difference when compared to the normal way of preparing ramen. Try out certain combinations and find what best suits you!
