Many fast-food establishments have embraced the fall season with themed food items, and Wendy’s has joined the excitement.
Wendy’s has introduced new limited-time menu options at its locations across the U.S. and U.K. This October, Wendy’s launched a collaboration with the popular Nickelodeon show SpongeBob SquarePants in the U.S., along with autumn-themed items in the U.K.
Starting October 7th, customers in the US can try out various SpongeBob-themed items, including the new Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty and Krabby Patty Kollab Burger, to celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary.
The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty Is a vanilla Frosty with a pineapple and mango puree swirl. The new Krabby Patty Kollab Burger includes a toasted bun, quarter pounder patty, two slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion, and a “top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce.”
“It makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages!” said Wendy’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer Lindsay Radkoski.
As for the new UK autumn items, those include a new quarter-pounder French Onion Burger made after the popular French Onion Soup dish. According to Wendy’s, the burger is a “perfect combination of Wendy’s burger mastery and the rich flavors of French onion soup.” In addition to the French Onion Burger, customers can expect a new chocolate frosty flavor named Frozen Hot Chocolate Frosty. The Hot Chocolate Frosty can come in either Vanilla or Chocolate. That said, both flavors come with chocolate sauce and mini marshmallow toppings.
Lastly, The chain added a new breakfast item, the Egg Double Stack. The breakfast sandwich consists of American cheese between two eggs and a toasted bun. The SpongeBob menu items officially launch in US locations on October 8th, with a far more interactive experience available at Wendy’s restaurants nationwide beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8, Wendy’s said in the news release last week.
It’s currently unclear if the U.K. autumn items will be offered in the U.S., though the French Onion Burger made a brief appearance in Canada this April.
