Why It Is Okay For Transgender Individuals To Use Their Transitioning Bathrooms

Transgender individuals using a bathroom of their affirmed gender has been a controversial topic for many. I mean, some people think that a transgender person is not real, and that they want attention or something else. Transphobia is a thing, and it just doesn’t make sense to me personally. I never understood being afraid of something that doesn’t concern the other person. Speaking of personal experience of being an asexual, some people wanted to deny even the existence or possibility of it actually being a real thing.

But some people think it’s fine that they use the bathroom that aligns with their transitioned gender, I mean, all they are doing is going to the bathroom, and then leaving, right? So why is it such a topic that has so many people so angry? I personally think that people have the right to use the bathroom they feel like they are assigned to. Whether it be by birth or transition. I had a transgender friend who, when I first met him, used the women’s bathroom but later started using the men’s bathroom. Did I freak out? No, I just let him go about his business.

But then some are against it. That it’s wrong for a trans woman to use the male bathroom, and they might do something to a family member, and think it would be weird if a woman who was once a man uses a woman’s restroom.

Most likely, they are going to use the stall, and you won’t see them at all to begin with. They are not malicious, and they have no other agenda other than to use the restroom. I want to eventually see bathrooms for them specifically, so they can feel safer, because I feel like some are actually hesitant to use the bathrooms they are assigned to. People shouldn’t be afraid to use the bathroom; they shouldn’t feel threatened by someone who is anti-trans.

I want the world to be a better place for everyone, and I want LGBT+phobia to just cease to exist.
