Why you should subscribe to Britbox

In an era where we have so many streaming services, the options have almost become as varied as cable TV in its prime. Netflix, Hulu, Paramount+, and HBO Max are all commonly in the mix to deliver the best content in an era where people have the attention span of a fish. However, there is a huge disparity pertaining to quality control. The overwhelming focus on quantity often diminishes the values of the shows companies have produced. This is where other apps come into play.

Enter Britbox, a British VOD streaming service founded by BBC Studios and ITV in March 2017. The UK answer to Netflix provides a vast selection of British television series and films: old school and modern. Monthly subscriptions are around $8.99, with an ad-free viewing experience, an affordable price for those who are enthusiasts toward British dramas, comedies, mysteries, and documentaries.

Britbox’s original programming included new shows such as “Ludwig,” “The Jetty,” “Douglas Is Cancelled,” and “Father Brown”; all showcasing the service’s commitment to engage with different audiences and appeal to them while still creating high-quality content. “Ludwig” is the prime example, as the dramedy currently has a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Britbox also showcases classic material from BBC’s past, including “Luther,” “Doctor Who,” and “Killing Eve” – offering a multifaceted selection of shows to binge.

Despite the announcements that Britbox might be merged into ITV’s premium streaming app, it’s best to be subscribed to Britbox now rather than later. It’s a streaming platform that offers the very best of British Television from its past to the future. An enticing yet affordable service for lovers of international programming.
