Wicked For Good Teaser Trailer Looks Promising

Wicked fans got a big surprise in 2024: the chance to see one of Broadway’s most popular musicals come to life on the big screen. Even people who haven’t seen the musical’s stage rendition can enjoy the fun subversion of the classic tale of The Wizard of Oz. From the story to the characters, this film provides upbeat and heartbreaking moments that draw the audience into each character’s struggles and goals.

With the film ending on a cliffhanger and the overall positive reception, there was no doubt fans anticipated info on part two. The wait was eventually rewarded this month when the teaser trailer eventually found its way online for all to see and announced November 2025 as the release date. While there wasn’t a whole lot to go off of, the few clips that we got were enough to know that the second film would enter interesting territory with the inclusion of Dorothy and the gang. This shocked me, as I wasn’t aware that the story would jump in time to the events of when the farm girl found herself far from home.

There are still plenty of subplots to explore and conclude, like Elphaba’s sister and the talking animals losing their voices. We will see these events play out and spend the remaining movie with Dorothy. Will she go along with Oz and Glinda like in the original film, or will she question their facade? Does this wicked witch of the West treat Dorothy with malice? Would the cowardly lion recognize Elphaba as the one who saved him when he was a cub? Even if Broadway fans know the answer to these questions, it’s still exciting to think of the possibilities that this trailer provides to old and new fans alike.
