Woman Killed By ICE in Minneapolis

On Wednesday, January 7 2026, a 37 year old woman named Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the time of the shooting, ICE agents were in the middle of immigration enforcement operations. In video footage provided by bystanders, it is shown that an ICE agent approached Good’s car, demanding she open the door and forcefully grabbing the door’s handle. Good declined to open her car door and attempted to pull away, where the agent grabbed his weapon and fatally shot the woman.

After the attack, the agent himself, ICE as a whole, and President Trump described the act as self defense due to the victim attempting to drive away. It is being argued that the victim continuing to drive after being told to exit the vehicle is using the car as a weapon, and even going as far to say her actions were an act of domestic terroism.

In the days that have followed, further statements, photos, and videos have come out surrounding the tragedy. The investigation continues against the ICE agent and ICE as a whole, which is now being taken over by the FBI to come to a conclusion. Furthermore, protests against ICE have broken out in Minneapolis, and across the nation. Citizens are concerned with the steps ICE is taking to carry out deportations and are fearful that situations such as these will continue to occur.

As the investigation continues, debate surrounds the case as it is unclear if any prosecution will take place on the victim’s behalf. The current administration continues to defend ICE within this case, and will not halt any action done by ICE at the moment.
