‘Zootopia 2’ Breaks Box Office Records with Massive Holiday Weekend Opening

After releasing on November 26th, 2025, ‘Zootopia 2’ has been breaking records at the box office with its phenomenal reception in theaters. With ‘Zootopia 2’ being the long-awaited sequel to the original Zootopia, which was released 9 years ago on March 4th, it is no surprise that the movie was going to be a success in theaters.

‘Zootopia 2’ has been a success across the world, grossing $156 million in the United States and $271.7 million in China. Overall, the movie grossed around $556 million worldwide over the past six days. It has broken the records for the highest global opening for any animated film in Disney history and the highest global animated film opening of all time.

‘Zootopia 2’ was not the only film released this holiday weekend. ‘Wicked: For Good’ and ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ were also released on the same weekend, with ‘Wicked: For Good’ earning $62 million and ‘Now You See Me: Now You Don’t’ earning $7 million.

The original ‘Zootopia’ was a massive success in theaters and quickly became one of the most popular animated films of all time. The story of a newly recruited bunny cop and a literal crafty fox working together to discover the hidden crimes in the ‘Utopia’ captured the hearts of millions. Its sequel seems to have recaptured those hearts with a new story following the protagonists of the previous film.

Reviewers and Critics have given the following description of the movie: “cleverly layering a thoughtful message onto another crackerjack caper while solidifying Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as one of the most endearing buddy pairings in ages.”

‘Zootopia 2’ is a massive success and a great film to take your family to see. It is entertaining for both kids and adults, so don’t miss out before it leaves the theaters.
