In celebration of Latinx pride and culture, one half of C&C Music Factory Robert Clivillés recently produced and released upbeat, evocative vibe song “Yo Soy Latino (Vamos a Bailar)” by Latinos Del Mundo, accompanied by an equally nostalgic music video. NYC Tastemakers sat down with Clivillés to talk about the release of this soon-to-be Latinx anthem, “Latinism,” and his life and legacy in the music industry.

At a press conference following the UEFA European Championships, Ronaldo set aside two bottles of Coca Cola and instead took a drink from a plastic water bottle, exclaiming “Agua!” meaning water in Spanish. Coca Cola bottles are typically kept on display during UEFA press conferences because Coca Cola is a major sponsor of the event.

Their most recent face-to-face interaction has been highly anticipated due to the tense relationship between the two nations. For this reason, the two leaders refused to hold a joint press conference, instead opting to hold separate conferences.
June 19 marks the day that soldiers arrived at Galveston, Texas, to deliver news that enslaved Black Americans had gained their freedom at the end of the Civil War in 1865. The anniversary of this event, which has been mainly recognized by Black Americans, is called Juneteenth. On Thursday, Juneteenth was declared a federal holiday, making it the 12th federal holiday.
