John Vigorito — New School Music Executive

John Vigorito is so much more than the CEO of Loud Era Records— he is a music executive running his own business while managing artists, running video production and graphic design, creating inspirational, trending content for his company and artists, and assisting in the writing and production on all the music coming out of Loud Era Records.

Backed by his amazing team and phenomenal artists, Vigorito has built an inspirational brand through hard work, talent, and dedication.

Inspired by music from a young age, John Vigorito was drawn to hip-hop, RnB, and pop. He remembers watching MTV Jam as a kid and appreciating how some of his favorite songs were paired with great visuals to paint a better picture for the viewers.

Having a love and artistic vision for video and music production encouraged this talented artist to take on his own record label, Loud Era Records, and musicians to manage to create similar amazing music paired with visuals and videos all created in-house. John praises his amazing team of artists whom he loves working and writing with.

John and his brother Louis Vigorito first started Loud Era Records in 2017. John recalls the exact moment they came up with their idea to make their independent record label, based in Keansburg, New Jersey.

“It’s a funny story how that started,” John explained. “I was reading a book by Grant Cardone called Sell or Be Sold, and I had some money at the time. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and I was trying to figure it out — I wanted to start a business, and I knew that. I just didn’t know what I really wanted to do.

“Lou was playing music in the other room, and I put the book down to go yell at him to turn it down so I could keep reading. When I went into the room to bang on the door, I heard what he was playing. I realized, oh wow, this is right in front of me. I walked in and asked him if he wanted to start a label, and we came up with the name. That’s literally how it worked out.”

John explained the idea behind Loud Eras’ name and logo. “Our logo is a distorted globe and what all that represents to me is the way that we view the world. Our view of regular people might be distorted, but in the metaphor, we control what we see. We control our outcomes and visions and what type of world we want to live in. Loud Era, you know, represents being loud. Not being scared to express yourself in a loud form in any way, like not being shy and not worrying about what other people are going to say. Just expressing yourself in your truest art form.”

While John Vigorito has a lot of artistic outlets through all aspects of Loud Eras’ music and video production, in our interview, he discusses his favorite part of his career: writing, specifically writing music with his brother and his other artists. Just coming together to make a masterpiece with his team is one of his biggest highlights.

Each of his artists has a unique and inspirational style that sets them apart. The artists on his record label include his brother and co-founder of Loud Era Records Louyah (Louis Vigorito), Gervs, and Young Pwavy. In addition to these three artists he manages, John Vigorito also manages a producer, Dakun, who works on all his label tracks. He is thankful for how his team all came together so effortlessly, and how they all gel together perfectly to make great music.

Whether it’s playing around with some samples or creating new beats and lyrics, Loud Era Records has fun. In our interview, John was explaining the method behind making the magic. His team likes to experiment and see where the music takes them. Sometimes they have a specific direction, but most times, they let the music flow naturally.

John said his brother Louis, whose artist name is Louyah, is their main force when they begin making music. He described how Louis is so talented because he starts off all the beats and melodies for their songs, creating new ways for them to showcase their talent to the world.

At the end of 2019, John went full force into developing and growing his record label by making his business his full-time job. He talked about how serious he’s become about enhancing and growing his company, and working full-time has allowed him to do so.

“It’s make this happen, or die,” he joked.

After hitting hard times in his personal life, in addition to the COVID crisis in 2020, John was able to hunker down and really create. He explains how what he experienced during that time was really a blessing in disguise because he and his friend were able to create the album 6 FEET that would later peak at number 2 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts in 2021.

“We took that time to create,” John Vigorito said. “We thought, well, we aren’t going nowhere, so let’s just write the best music we can and create the best content we can. We were all going through heartaches and dealing with a lot of emotions during that time of uncertainty. We had fun too, I can’t even lie. It was all over the place. There were all types of different emotions during that time, and I feel like this album 6 FEET really captures that.”

In 2021, John Vigorito’s hard work and dedication paid off when his artist Louyah became a viral sensation. In addition to his album hitting number 2 on the iTunes Hip Hop charts, his song “I Used to Care” went number 1 globally on Spotify Viral charts, reached number 34 on the Alternative Rock Billboard chart, and was in the top 10 on the Digital Downloads Billboard chart.

John Vigorito is thankful and proud of his company’s growth and accomplishments so far. He sees so much potential in his current artists. In our interview, John talks about how Pwavy is one of his favorite people to make music with because of the free and playful nature of their collaborations. He loves working with this talented artist from Harlem, New York and loves his young and energic spirit.

“Pwavy is young, and not so serious. He can do that too, but a lot of the time we’re just having fun. That’s what I like the most about music, just having fun. Sometimes we take everything so seriously, and even myself, I’m a serious person. So, I like to write with him because it allows me to put that down for a moment.”

Writing is a huge passion for John Vigorito. “When I write with my artists, I’m like a chameleon. I put on their shoes when I’m writing with them because I’m doing it for that artist. That’s the kind of creative that I am. All three of my artists are so different than when we’re in the studio, whoever’s session it is, I’m putting on their shoes and getting to feel how they feel in that moment. It’s hard to explain, but it’s really helped my songwriting, being able to just be what they need. I write as if I was them.”

Vigorito loves his career as a music executive, having the opportunity to work with all his talented artists. He said one of the most important things he does as a music executive is managing and creating content on social media platforms like TikTok. John believes that for all independent artists coming up, it’s important to stay present and relevant. Focusing on TikTok and content production includes looking for trends and new angles that they can use to share and deliver their music to the world.

Having aesthetic music videos that relate to their audience is something John really enjoys creating and making for his artists and company. He’s building a legacy with his music, record label, and team. He explained how creating the music videos is a group effort that always comes together effortlessly. “Our main core group is producing all this art—it’s beautiful,” he said. He continually praised his team for their artistic talent throughout our interview.

When asked about the most rewarding part of his career, this is what John Vigorito said: “My brother Louyah gets messages from people saying how much the music helped them, you know, a lot of people going through depression or dealing with mental health issues or just going through it or dealing with a breakup. Getting that message on social media saying that this song saved them, or this song made them wanna stay, it’s rewarding. I feel like we’re in a state of the world where everybody needs some light right now. I feel like a lot of people are just going through stuff, and the most rewarding part of what we do is putting out stuff to help people. Especially Lou. His music does that for people.”

He continued to tell me how his brother’s new song released about two months ago, “This Isn’t Heaven, It Must Be Hell,” already has almost 2 million streams on Spotify.

Loud Era Records has so many new things in store for this year. They are working on more albums for each of John’s artists and working on developing new, epic merchandise for albums. In addition to the multiple singles already released this year, Loud Era Records is also working on a label-wide collaboration that’s sure to be inspiring.

Here’s some advice from John Vigorito for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the music industry: “Know that getting burned is part of the process, and don’t take everything so personally. Don’t expect anything from anyone and know that no matter who it is, they can’t save you. You gotta save yourself, and you gotta do you. Nobody’s gonna walk in and just change your life. You gotta change it yourself.”

John Vigorito is determined, passionate, and confident in the future of Loud Era Records and his artists. Without a doubt, everyone will know about the amazing legacy created by John Vigorito.

“I say it over and over again, and this is me just being confident in my team: we’re coming! We have amazing work on the way. My goal is this: I want all my artists on the charts dominating, and if it’s a song that’s on the chart that’s not by one of my artists, we wrote it. That’s the type of energy that I’m carrying into this year, next year, and forever that I’m in this game.”
