Gap and Disney Collaborate on Fashion Capsule

A new fashion collaboration between Disney and Gap was announced this week, unveiling a limited-time capsule collection that showcases new Gap apparel featuring Disney characters According to the press release. Although Gap and Disney have partnered on projects before, this latest endeavor is positioned as an expansion of their previous collaborations.

The Gap × Disney Collegiate collection will be fit for the entire family starting with, which features the Mickey & Friends cast in ’90s inspired apparel. The Gap × Disney Denim Big Shirt collection will feature various denim styles with “unique Mickey prints” for the whole family with prices ranging from $14 to $149.

Disney Consumer Products’ EVP (Executive Vice President) of Global Brand Commercialization Paul Gitter, and Gap’s Chief Marketing Officer Fabiola Torres both shared their excitement at the collaboration.

“We are continuing to build upon our longstanding relationship with Gap by fusing our creative energies to deliver a more stylized product offering that features Mickey & Friends and other beloved Disney franchises,” said Gitter.”Starting with the Mickey & Friends Collegiate collection, customers will be captivated by the blend of Disney’s iconic characters with timeless Gap style, creating must-have looks that resonate with today’s audiences.”   

It has been inspiring to bring two powerful brands together to create the Gap × Disney Collegiate collection for our customers with an elevated, style-forward point of view,” said Torres. “After nearly 10 years of a successful partnership, we are turning up the heat with this drop that represents the next phase in our collaboration and offers looks for the whole family that champion original style.” 

Leaning heavily on the collection’s college theme, Gap and Disney will be kicking off the collection at a Georgia v Alabama football game on September 28. Fans, students, and others are encouraged to come to the game dressed in their favorite “game-day outfit” while participating in the festivities.
