Babyface Disrespected at Grammys Interview

Rapper Kenneth Brian Edmonds, better known by his artist name Babyface, was interrupted during an interview by reporters from the Associated Press at the Grammys in favor of interviewing Chappell Roan.

Associated Press reporter Krysta Fauria rudely interrupted Babyface while he was answering her fellow reporter, Leslie Ambriz’s question.

The rapper started to answer before he realized Fauria was trying to get Chappel Roan’s attention instead, “I think it’s interesting that…you guys want to do that? Go do that.”

Ambriz quickly apologized to Babyface for Fauria’s interruption before he handed the microphone back to her.

Despite the awkward situation, Babyface shrugged it off and moved on to the subsequent interviewers.

On Monday, an Associated Press spokesperson apologized on their social media, saying, “We are deeply sorry for cutting our interview with Babyface short on our YouTube live stream of the Grammys red carpet. We have apologized to Babyface through his representative and to our viewers on the live stream.”

Fans of Babyface have taken to Fauria’s Instagram to express their disappointment at her rude behavior. People have called her “Disrespectful and weird” and “unprofessional and embarrassing! Hopefully, you get fired for being so disrespectful.”

The Associated Press has yet to release any information about whether the reporter was fired for the situation, but it seems that her unprofessionalism left a negative mark on the news organization.
