The Michael Jackson Biopic Has Been Pushed Back

Initially, the biopic for Michael Jackson’s career, “Michael”, was planned to be released in the fall this year. However, due to many delays and rewrites, the biopic is now said to be ready in late April next year. Regardless of the delay, many people are excited to see the life of the King of Pop.

Michael Jackson remains one of the biggest game-changers for popular music the world has ever known, even long after he passed away. His music helped pave the way for many other artists and transcended many boundaries in the music world. With the current trend of famous singers being given their biopics, it makes sense that Lionsgate and Universal would want the chance to depict Michael’s hardships and triumphs.

Of course, the news of delays and reshoots is somewhat troublesome. Music Times reported that the reshoots are due to some concerns involving a scene with Jordan Chandler, the one who accused Michael of sexual misconduct with minors. In the end, they decided that the biopic was going to be split into two parts, one showing Michael’s early years with the Jacksons and the other showing his career after that. The biopic will need extensive editing and reshoots to make these changes possible.

For me, I find this revelation to be good news. It would be a shame to leave anything out of his story for the sake of runtime, so it benefits all parties to make it into two films that display his life in full. The world will be able to witness the interesting career of Michael Jackson and his impact on music!
