The public has yet to forget the flippant care of the Epstein files that the current administration has been demonstrating. What was once considered a real list of attendees at the infamous island has now been dismissed as being fake or non-existent. With the Department of Justice being called into question about their honesty, the House Oversight Committee has decided to take matters into its own hands.
Chairman James Comer has begun issuing multiple subpoenas to the Department of Justice, requiring that they hand over all files regarding Epstein by the 19th of this month. Furthermore, the House is also demanding the deposition of both Bill and Hillary Clinton for any information regarding Epstein. Many other officials are also being questioned.
These measures were approved by both democrats and republicans during a subcommittee. The very fact that both sides of the political spectrum have come together to uncover the truth of the matter is startling, and it shows just how badly the administration has handled the issue. It has caused discomfort for many MAGA supporters as well, who were sold on the idea of uncovering the corruption at the government level.
Donald Trump has yet to make a statement about the subpoenas. The current poll numbers have shown a large amount of disapproval with Trump’s handling of the case. His supposed knowing of Epstein before his crimes were revealed has not helped matters either, leaving more people to suspect who could be on the list. With these subpoenas, we might finally get a better look at what is really going on with these files.
