We Need More “Backyard Concerts”

The ability for music fans to see their favorite band at a concert has only grown more challenging during the years post the Covid-19 pandemic. So, to no one’s surprise, when videos of popular indie band All-American Rejects rocking it out in a college party hit social media, music fans were clamoring for answers.

According to an interview with The Rolling Stone, the stunt was a part of their house party tour across the United States. The concept originated from the band reminiscing about their early days and wishing to recreate the authentic music experience that modern live musical events seem to lack. While it was initially uncertain whether the public would respond positively to this tour, the band was pleasantly surprised by the tour’s success from the outset.

Live music events have been harder for the general public to enjoy, largely due to rising prices and the dwindling respect that modern crowds have towards artists on stage. Backyard Concerts offer a chance for artists to rebuild the deep connection that fans had with their favorite artists in the early 2000s.

These events are a great way for not only music fans to meet with each other, but also for general audiences as a great way to mingle and meet new people. If more bands were to join and make backyard concerts of their own, it would add more fun to the lives of people in general.
