Celebrations have rung out across Los Angeles as they celebrate the Dodgers winning the World Series for the second time in a row. As part of these celebrations, a parade was organized through downtown Los Angeles, and a large rally was held in the Dodgers’ stadium.
Members of the Dodgers have been quick to make their excitement known online and have been making suggestions that they may attempt to go for three World Series wins in a row, matching the records of only two other teams in the league.
Dodger outfielder Kiké Hernández said, “Everybody has been about a dynasty. How about three in six years? How about back-to-back?”. Similarly, one of the star players of the team responsible for their victory, Shohei Ohtani, said the following in English, a rare occurrence for him, “I am so happy to be part of this team. I’m ready to get another ring next year.”
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has come out and stated, “I will tell you this has been a tough year for Los Angeles, but (this) shows the grit and the spirit of our city,”. According to the mayor, Los Angeles has been having a tough year, and the celebrations surrounding the victorious Dodgers are a refreshing turn for the morale of the city.
Many citizens made the decision to take time off work to participate in the massive celebration across the city, which was a few months earlier, a battleground between protestors and the police. Everyone in the city was in high spirits, and it is a refreshing turn of pace to have joy spread through the city instead of rage.
