The topic of transgender women in women’s sports has caused a lot of debate. People on both sides want what they believe is fair. In my opinion, transgender women should not compete in women’s sports because it can affect fair competition.
Many people believe transgender women should be allowed to compete in the women’s division because they should have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. They also say that hormone therapy lowers strength and other physical advantages. They believe sports should be open and welcoming to all athletes.
Others believe that going through male puberty can create lasting advantages in strength, speed, and endurance. Even after hormone treatment, some of these differences may remain, such as height, stamina, and overall a better athletic physique, giving them an advantage. Because of this, they think transgender women may have an unfair advantage over cisgender women in some sports.
I understand why people support inclusion. Everyone deserves respect and the chance to enjoy sports. No one should be treated unfairly because of who they are. At the same time, I think women’s sports were created to give female athletes a fair chance to compete.
I believe sports organizations should keep looking for ways to balance inclusion and fairness. They should use scientific research and listen to athletes when making decisions. Finding a solution that respects everyone is important.
I believe transgender women should not compete in women’s sports if it gives them an unfair physical advantage. I respect the people who disagree and understand why they feel that way. However, I think protecting fair competition is the best choice for women’s sports.
