Greatest of All Time: Carlos Beltrán

Baseball Halll of Fame welcomes one of its newest members, Carlos Beltrán, this week in sports!  Officially inducted in his fourth year of eligibility, Beltrán was selected for the formal induction ceremony on Tuesday, Jan 20, 2026, with an overwhelming number of votes.    

In the Baseballs Writers’ Association of America, Beltrán’s name for the voting process was reportedly named 84% of the time on the official ballots, according to  ESPN.  During the voting process, Beltran’s name was counted a total of 358 times on the ballots.   As reported by officials involved in the selection process, Beltrán “easily [cleared] the 75% threshold for enshrinement,” which more than earns him a spot in the Baseball Hall of Fame.   

However, in the eyes of the fans, Beltrán has already proved himself worthy of earning a place in the Hall of Fame!   Across the span of his career playing professional baseball, Beltrán hit .279 during his famed career, additionally accumulating 2,725 hits, 435 homers, 1, 582 runs, and 312 stolen bases, according to ESPN.  Joining the athletic talents of Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, and Alex Rodriguez with similar significant and impressive stats and numbers, Beltrán sits with legendary players across the baseball league.   

Citing his immense excitement and gratitude, Beltrán had the following to say:  “Today, my life really has changed, just being able to be named a Hall of Famer and what it really means to me, to Puerto Rico, to our family, to our project in Puerto Rico promoting baseball.”
