I love visual and auditory media. It is what I live and bleed, day in and day out. From reading books and fanfiction to watching movies and television, I love it all (don’t get me started on genderbent Draco Malfoy), and this month I’ve been granted the opportunity to give you all my top 5 suggestions to watch this November to get through this fall season.
1. Lanterns
First on the list to watch is DC’s live-action Green Lantern Adaptation “Lanterns” on HBO Max. Starring Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as John Stewart and Hal Jordan, respectively, this show is a television gem from episode 1 to episode 8. It’s an absolutely amazing watch, but fair warning to any die-hard Green Lantern fans: this is a very, very, and I mean very loose adaptation of the Green Lantern mythos. But regardless of this, it is an absolute stellar watch, and both Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler might be some of my favorite comic book movie castings since Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
2. Wonder Man
Staying in the Comic Book television realm, moving to the rival company of Marvel and Disney, Wonder Man is a narrative masterpiece. It is unlike a lot of anything you would expect from Marvel in this day and age; it’s not full of half-baked CGI and one-liners that make you cringe in disgust. Starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Wonder Man and Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery from Iron Man 3, this show is a grounded story focusing on not anything superficial or mythical but the real struggles anyone can go through, with hints of superpowers and heroes sprinkled throughout
3. Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2
Netflix promised more tears than before, and I don’t know if it’s possible. But if there is anyone who’s going to bring the tears down the faces of their audiences with ease, it’s going to be CD Projekt Red and Mike Pondsmith with Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2. I am a massive fan of the Cyberpunk franchise, from the game to the first season of Edgerunners, and if season 2 is anything like season 1 in writing, this is a suggestion for a watch that I would be ashamed to not recommend. Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 premieres on October 20th, 2026.
4. Avatar: Seven Havens
Talking about popular animated series that I hold close to my heart getting reprised and brought back, the Avatar franchise is back again on October 9th with an all-new series, Avatar: Seven Havens. Following the events of Legends of Korra, this Avatar series takes place in a world where the avatar, who this time is a young earthbending girl with a twin, is not only pursued and hunted by humans but the spirits from the spirit realm as well. Just like with Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2, I would be insane to not recommend an Avatar series to you all(especially considering how good the last two series were)
5. The Queen’s Gambit
I’ve suggested projects from this year, and projects that are coming out and ongoing, but to end the list I have to recommend one of not just my favorite shows ever, but a series I rewatch every Autumn without fail: Netflix’s The Queen’s Gambit starring Anya Taylor-Joy. It is a beautifully written chess-led drama of a chess prodigy and her journey to become the greatest chess player in the world. It is, in my opinion, a masterpiece that I would recommend to anyone, a fan of chess or not.
