Phoebe Cates is a former American actress and model known for her roles in 80s movies like Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Gremlins. She was born in NYC on July 16th, 1963. She grew up in the show business with her father, Joseph Cates, who produced and directed television in the 50s. Her first role in a film was in Paradise at age 19, and then after Fast Times at Ridgemont High, she gained notoriety as an actress in 80s movies.

She married fellow actor Kelvin Kline in 1989 and had two children, Owen and Greta. She mostly stepped away from acting in the 1990s to focus on her family, but she returned for one last movie role in The Anniversary Party in 2001.
