Bad news for Trump: the former president is trailing President Biden in a Fox News 2024 presidential poll

Trump’s presidential campaign might have just taken a significant blow. Fox News’ latest 2024 presidential poll sees former President Donald Trump trailing behind current President Joe Biden. According to Newsweek, this is the first time such events occurred since late last year.

1,095 registered voters answered the conservative news network’s poll. The results were Biden, 50 percent, and Trump 48 percent, a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percent was also present. This is a significant shift from the beginning of the year, with Trump having a five-point lead in March, 50 percent to 45 percent, and a one-point lead in May, 49 percent to 48 percent.

Fox News has told Newsweek that multiple factors could have caused the poll results to swing slightly towards Biden. This latest poll is the first presidential poll since Trump’s hush money trial conviction.

Newsweek has also mentioned that Biden’s improvement in the polls could stem from his latest announcement about tougher immigration policies. Economic and financial standing also has to be taken into consideration. In their summary of the poll results, Newsweek mentions that 50 percent of voters say they are getting ahead or are steady financially and 44 percent of voters feel good about the economy. On the other hand, Biden’s level of support from Black voters went from 92 percent in 2020 to 73 percent presently. His improvement with women and seniors, according to Republican pollster Daron Shaw, might be enough to keep him in the running.

Aside from one-upping Trump on the Fox News poll, Biden is also ahead, 43 percent to 42 percent, when other candidates are thrown into the race. The previous survey showed Trump with a lead of 43 percent to 40 percent when third parties were included. Newsweek announced that the percentages held by independent candidates were 10% for Robert Kennedy Jr and 2 percent for Cornel West and Jill Stein.

According to Newsweek, independent voters will play a key factor in who wins the 2024 presidential elections. The popular and electoral votes are still up in the air, but one thing is certain: the race between Trump and Biden will be neck-and-neck.
