Fashion Trends for 2025

This was the year of mismatched looks. Hot combos included sports jerseys, mini-skirts, various patterns, and baggy jeans paired with ballet flats. Fashionistas can expect to see more of that trend rolling into 2025, with one of the biggest projected looks being elevated sportswear.

While ballet flats returned significantly this year, the ballerina look will continue to thrive in 2025. Light pink tights, ribbons, bows, and leg warmers will be all the rages, especially during winter. Layering shirts and sweaters over leotards will be another trend coming into focus next year.

Elevated sportswear is the next big thing. Aside from ballet rehearsal accessories and accent pieces, matching sweatsuits, cropped sweatshirts, and casual sneakers are also some of the hottest items for 2025. Pairing a comfy, sporty look with high-fashion designer shoes and bags will combine an effortlessly glamorous look. Polo shirts for women are also having a moment, giving a nod to tennis chic.

The color of 2025 will be everything yellow, though trend predictors see a rise in pale and soft hues. As we move closer to the warm months of spring and summer, yellow will be everywhere. Not just a staple piece, monochrome yellow will be an especially hot look this year. Trend forecasters also predict a spike in shades of aqua, from seafoam green to brilliant turquoise.

The number one texture of 2025 will be suede. From fringy cowboy chic jackets to rugged pants, suede will be everywhere. Practical styles include suede accessories, like large bags, while other looks hitting the runway hint at matching overcoats, pants, and even suede skirts.

Next year is all about making a statement. Bold patterns like animal prints are coming back in a big way, as are asymmetrical looks. Off-the-shoulder tops and dresses are making a comeback, as are high-low skirts. Pairing a bright cheetah print look with detailed eyeliner and precise lips will be one surefire way to let everyone know you’ve come to slay.
