Keeping up with the Guardian Angels

Guardian Angels in NYC Help a Man In Need

This past week, the UWS patrol, which consisted of 4 people (Josh, SK, Tony and John) spent some time walking the streets of West Harlem as is their custom when the weather permits.  As they approached the 2/3 station on 125th and Lenox, in order to check the station (as it is one of the chief problem areas) they encountered a man bent over at his waist outside the subway station.  The patrol approached him and asked him if he was ok and when he tried to stand up they could tell that he was sobbing. They asked him what they could do to help and he cried that he couldn’t walk because he had no shoes and his feet were in incredible pain from walking in his socks.  They knew we had to try to help and when they looked up they noticed a Marshall’s across the street.  So as two Guardian Angels went to Marshalls the other members stayed to take care of the guy and get him off his feet at the bus stop. They bought him a pair of shoes and returned within 10 minutes. By then, SK and John had the man calm and seated. They gave him the shoes but he couldn’t even put them on his own feet so Josh had to do it for him. He was thrilled!
