Jonathan Bennett will debut on Broadway during the revival of “Spamalot”

You may know Jonathan Bennett as an actor from his portrayal of Aaron Samuels in “Mean Girls” (2004), his Hallmark movies, his many roles on TV as a host on “Cupcake Wars”, and even as a contestant in “Celebrity Big Brother”; now he takes on Broadway. On Wednesday, the team behind Monty Python’s “Spamalot” announced that Bennet will join the cast as he embarks on his quest as Sir Robin starting January 23rd.

The Tonny Award-winning musical comedy is an adaptation of the 1975 film “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. This revival of the beloved musical had a limited run at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. starting May 2023 before announcing it was moving to Broadway last August. The show has an impeccable ensemble cast that includes Alex Brightman as Sir Lancelot, Christopher Fitzgerald as Patsy, James Monroe Iglehart as King Arthur, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer as The Lady of the Lake, and Ethan Slater as The Historian/Prince Herbert.

It was also announced through @spamalotbway, that cast member Michael Urie (Ugly Betty), who currently plays the role of Sir Robin, will give his final performance on January 21st due to a prior commitment.

“It’s my dream come true. I’m so pumped,” Bennett stated upon the news of his new role viapeople.com.

We cannot wait to see all he has to offer in this iconic show later this year. For tickets and more information visit spamalotthemusical.com.
