Brett Mayfield and Jayashree have spent a lot of time travelling back and forth from Vermont where they live to HYDERABAD, India. They have business there but they have spent the last 2 years planting the seeds of the Guardian Angels concept there. They have conducted meetings and seminars with officials and citizens to introduce the Guardian Angel concept to the whole nation of India. They have gotten volunteers in India to escort women who are at times victimized. They have taught Women’s self-defense which is desperately needed. They have joined with others in delivering food and clothing to the many poor, impoverished and homeless. And they have set up a SOLID Junior Guardian Angels Program up in HYDERABAD.
For awhile they would have to head back to the USA and the program would slow down. Now after hundreds of hours of training and developing leadership and management skills in the local adults they are getting results.They have delegated the organizing and day to day volunteer work to trusted adults and now they are doing the day to day heavy lifting. This will enable Brett and Jayashree to use HYDERABAD as their GA base and to potentially spread the Guardian Angel program into other areas of India. The Junior Guardian Angels is especially suited to meet India’s growing juveniles needs.
