Ever since former President Joe Biden dropped out of the election, Kamala Harris has stepped up to take his place and has been making positive steps forward.
According to wcvb.com, “Just short of one week since President Joe Biden ended his re-election bid, the Harris campaign reported recruiting more than 170,000 new volunteers and raising $200 million.” Harris is making moves, and she is making them fast. It may leave the opposing party slightly less confident than they were initially, before Biden dropped.
Stated again by WCVB, Harris said in a video message at the Voters of Tomorrow Summit in Atlanta, Georgia, “We know young voters will be key and we know your vote cannot be taken for granted, it must be earned and that is exactly what we will do.” It seems that one of Harris’ tactics is to reel in the young voters by making it clear that they are valued. We will see how this plays out very soon. Social media is playing a major role in her strategies as well.
The Democratic Party feels much more at ease now with Harris in the running. So far in the stats, she has gained much more support than Biden did, increasing by 16 points in Arizona, eight in Georgia, five in Michigan, 11 in Pennsylvania, and one in Wisconsin. Even one, makes all the difference.
The polls are tightening up, and Donald Trump continues to advocate against Harris with political remarks, saying that she will be “the most extreme radical liberal president in American history.” Just a few short months away from the election, it is difficult to predict which side will end up with the most votes.
Harris replacing Biden really did shake things up, and so far, is working beneficially for the Democrats. Let’s see if Harris will continue to prove herself.
