Katy and Russell Split!

After only fourteen months, Katy Perry and Russell Brand have decided to get divorced. Brand, who initiated the break-up, is said to receive an estimated $20 million dollars after the settlement. The British comedian who got his big break in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” is only worth an estimated $15 million compared to Perry who is worth over $44 million. Thanks to California Law and the couple’s decision not to sign a prenuptial agreement, Brand could potentially be $20 million dollars richer.
Rumor has it the couple has been fighting for a while now, which became obvious when they spent the holiday on opposite sides of the globe. Unfortunately for these celebs, they did not get their happy ending. The couple has remained respectful of each other and very civilized. No word yet from Perry but Brand released the following statement, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends”. Although Russell Brand was the one who filed for divorce, Katy was the one who initiated it. She asked Russell to file the paperwork so that she would not upset her religious parents. Wonder how upset they are going to be when their daughter loses half her fortune.
