Video of the Month for April 2024

Selena Gomez lived in Paris for a few months last year and was inspired by the people, fashion, and food. It was important to her that the “Love On” music video appear as if it could have been shot in France.

Director Greg Ohrel was inspired by French New Wave director Eric Rohmer, which resulted in his favorite scene from the video: a couple kissing on a ladder. Selena’s clothes and positioning are heavily inspired by classical paintings while exuding modern female strength. Many scenes are inspired by ’60s French films.

“I didn’t want to eat too many croissants since we did so many takes. The robe and towel on my head were one of my favorite looks from the shoot. Simple and chic,” Gomez said.
